Ever wondered how you could be just as flawless as Beyoncé? Though, it’s unlikely that you will ever be able to sing or dance quite like the queen, you shouldn’t lose hope!
This morning, Beyonce shocked the world when she hopped on Good Morning America to proudly announce her veganism to the world. For the first time in public, she outlined the diet and habits that have led to her radiant glow and physique over the few years.
Back in 2013, Beyoncé and Jay-Z embarked on a 22-day vegan challenge. The meals included vegan staples like green smoothies, chia pudding, quinoa and black bean salads, zucchini pasta and lots of kale. Beyoncé loved her new plant-based lifestyle so much that she teamed up with her trainer, Marco Borges, to launch a new vegan meal delivery service called 22 Days Nutrition. The company delivers organic, non-GMO, gluten-free, soy-free, dairy-free, 100% plant based foods right to your home. What could be better than that?
In an email to the Times, Beyonce wrote, “the benefits of a plant-based diet need to be known.” She stated, “We should spend more time loving ourselves, which means taking better care of ourselves with good nutrition and making healthier food choices.” You go, B.
So if Beyoncé can find time to go vegan, why can’t you? Many people have sacrificed nutrition for convenience and availability of food. Sure, it's easy to grab a pastry from Starbucks on your way to work or snack on a bag of chips while watching TV at night, but trust Beyoncé, it isn't worth it. Eating whole foods doesn’t always have to be inconvenient. It starts with not having them around in the first place. Try to limit purchases of processed and packaged foods at the grocery store. Stick to the perimeter of the store and buy a variety of fresh, nutrient-dense foods. Take some time on the weekend to cut up fruits and vegetables to snack on throughout the week. Have fresh herbs and spices on hand, prep for your meals ahead of time, and enjoy eating healthy flavorful foods.
Giving veganism a go, can be a simple process. Try eating a vegan breakfast everyday and see how you feel. Some of our favorites are steel cut oatmeal, vanilla chia seed tapioca, and acai bowls loaded with fresh fruit, nuts, and granola.
If you’re just too anxious and want to dive right in, try a juice cleanse to restart your body, cleanse it of toxins, and help you burn fat and gain energy. Once you take control of your health, you will not regret it. And besides sharing something in common with Queen Bey, you will also experience benefits like weight loss, clear skin, reduced stress levels, reduced risk of heart disease, and energy gain. B swears that if she can do it, anybody can. So are you up for the challenge?
